RLCraft Taming Monsters

Taming monsters in RLCraft can be really beneficial, as many of them can be used as mounts and have special abilities. In particular the ROC is a great addition to your tamed animals. It can pick up monsters, players and even villagers! You can also tame dragons in RLCraft, but they are a separate mod.

RLCraft Tameable Flying Mounts

All of the tameable creatures will have a type to them, for example, Avian. To tame them, you will need to get the correct treat that relates to them.

All Tameable RLCraft Monsters

Ventorapter

• Avian Treat
• Heal with any cooked meat
• Very Fast
• Ability: Leap forward and glide at a very fast pace and take no falling damage

Roc

• Avian Treat
• Heal with any cooked meat
• Very useful flying mounts
• Ability: Can pick up other creatures and players (if PVP is enabled on the mob settings) You can pick up creepers and they won’t explode. Once dropped they will ignite.

Feradon

• Beast Treat
• Heal with any cooked meat
• A deadly battle mount with their weakness pounce attack increasing the damage done to enemies.

Morock

• Dragon Treat
• Heal with any cooked meat
• Can’t breathe fire, but can bite
• Deadly flying battle mount
• Gives rider immunity to the weakness and mining fatigue debuffs
• Ability: Speed boost forward

Warg

• Beast Treat
• Heal with any cooked meat
• Ability: Leap forward, takes no falling damage. Upon landing all nearby enemies will be briefly paralyzed

Eyewig

• Arthropod Treat
• Heal with any cooked meat
• Can fall for a larger distance than most mounts
• Can climb up walls and swim quickly across the water.
• Protect rider from poison effects
• Ability: Fires a poison ray in the direction of the players aim

Uvaraptor

• Avian Treat
• Healed with any cooked meat
• Versatile mount
• Ability: Leap upwards into the air where they can slowly glide down or leap upwards even more. No falling damage

Cockatrice

• Avian Treat
• Healed with any cooked meat or fish
• Powerful flying mounts
• Ability: petrifying caw, which paralyses and afflicts aphagia (prevents players from using many items) to nearby enemies.

Erepede

• Arthropod Treat
• Healed with any cooked meat
• Immune to cactus damage
• Prevents the rider from being weakened
• Move fast across the sand when mounted.
• Ability: Uses a mud shot in the direction of players aim.

Beholder

• Aboration Treat
• Healed with any cooked meat
• Deadly flying mount
• Ability: Shots their arcane laser storms

Barghest

• Beast Treat
• Heal with any cooked meat
• Excellent for mountainous terrain
• Will also bite enemies that their rider attacks
• Ability: Leaps high into the air and paralyse nearby units when landing.

Maug

• Beast Treat
• Healed with any cooked meat
• Take no fall damage.
• Ability: Leap forwards, upon landing all nearby enemies will have their movement speed reduced.

Thresher

• Aquatic Treat
• Healed with any cooked meat or fish
• Very fast but large swimmers
• Applies water breathing to its rider as well as immunity to effects such as paralysis and penetration.
• Ability: Creates a massive whirlpool sucking other creatures in and whipping them into the air for you to kill or dangerously transport.

Ioray

• Aquatic Treat
• Healed with any cooked meat or fish
• Very fast and small mounts
• Applies water breathing and immunity to effects such as paralysis and penetration on their rider.
• Ability: Fires a deadly high power water jet which applies penetration allowing for incredibly high focused damage
  Ideal for creating underwater bases

Raiko

• Avian Treat
• Healed with any cooked meat or fish
• Can swim very fast underwater BUT cannot breath underwater, nor does it apply breathing effects to the rider.
• Ability: Pick up other creatures, additionally applying the weight effect to the creature when dropped.

Roa

• Aquatic Treat
• Healed with any cooked meat or fish
• Very fast swimmers
• Applies water breathing to its rider as well as immunity to effects such as weight
• Ability: Creates a deadly whirlpool sucking other creatures in for you to kill or transport

Quetzodracl

• Avian Treat
• Healed with any cooked meat
• Grants rider immunity to the blindness and weight debuffs.
• Ability: Allow them to pick up mobs and other players

Shade

• Aboration Treat
• Shades will bite anything you hit whilst riding them. Bites have a chance to affect the horrific howl too.
• Ability: Shade’s Horrific Howl, applies the fear debuff to all nearby enemies making them turn around in panic.

Salamander

• Beast Treat
• Healed with any cooked meat
• Quickly swim through lava.
• Grants rider Fire Resistance which will allow you to swim in lava and see clearly
• Ability: Fiery Burst sets all nearby enemies on fire

Baby Pinkies

• Demon Treat
• Healed with any cooked meat
• You can only tame Baby Pinkies
• Once tamed, Pinkies will eventually grow up and remain tamed, however, they will still attack animals (but not players) on sight unless they are mounted.

Adult Pinkies

• Adult Pinkies can be ridden once they grow up. (Babies cannot be saddles or mounted)
• They will bite anything you attack if close enough.
• They protect from the wither effect.
• Ability: Withering Roar is where every nearby enemy becomes withered.

Cacodemon

• Demon treat
• Healed by feeding any cooked meat
• Ability: Allows you to fire their demonic lighting blasts
